Description
J. Harper and Sons (Leominster) Ltd acting as Principal Contractor under a JCT Design and Build Contract with Two Rivers Development, Quattro Design Architects and the Walker Pritchard Partnership completed the construction of 10 affordable mixed use dwellings at Ivy House Lane, Gorsley, Ross-on-Wye.
This project was undertaken on a Fixed Price Lump Sum basis and was delivered ahead of programme and on budget, with Design Development and Technical Resolution ongoing throughout the build process.
The properties were traditional in their construction, with a mixture of brick and local stone facades, engineered joist floors and roof trusses, concrete tiled roofs, UPVC windows, high level insulation and Grade A efficient boilers.
The project was delivered with extensive coordination and interface with the Local Community, due to its proximity to the existing highway, residential area and adjacent local school.
The project went through an extensive review in relation to design, sustainability, local procurement and delivery prior to construction work being undertaken on site, with a robust waste management procedure, high quality specification, active Waste Management Plans, local employment and training adding social values to the project.
