Here at Harper HQ, we thought we’d take a look back to our Johnstone Close project in Gloucestershire, delivered in partnership with Two Rivers Housing, Frazer Garner Associates Ltd and Homes England.
This project was one of our most successful schemes to date and was also one of the first projects that we implemented the use of a drone as part of our quality management procedures. We found the drone very helpful in checking work in hard to reach/view places, with the added bonus of being able to capture some truly breath-taking shots of the project.
As such, please enjoy this photo montage of Johnstone’s Journey;
- Aug 2024 – Just before we started the demolition works on the existing building that occupied the site. A derelict ex-supported living complex which had been unoccupied for years.
- Nov 2024 – With the original building demolished and cleared, we were able to crack on with the civils, drainage and foundation works.
- Dec 2024 – The Winter weather trying its best to slow us down, but we kept pushing to get the foundations in.
- Feb 2025 – With all foundations in and the last few bits of drainage being finished off, we were able to set up the scaffolding to accommodate the installation of the timber-framed house.
- Mar 2025 – Within a month, 75% of the timber-framed structures were up to roof level, showcasing just how quickly timber-framed houses can be installed.
- May 2025 – By May, the timber-framed houses were water-tight, and the traditionally-built flats were coming along nicely.
- July 2025 – By July, all plots were weather-proofed and the internals works were well under way.
- Oct 2025 – October saw the external finishing works moving on apace, with lawns being laid and driveways formed.
- Nov 2025 – by the end of November, we had a finished development.
This project is a testament to what can be achieved with robust project management procedures and strong communication and collaboration between all major stakeholders. We’re very proud to put our name to this one and we hope that the new residents are very happy in their new homes.
