Description
J. Harper & Sons (Leominster) Ltd acted as Principal Contractor for Heantun Housing Association to build two units specifically constructed to suit the requirements of wheelchair users. The project was handed over ahead of contract programme and on budget. A 100% safety record was also recorded on site.
All of the units on the site were of traditional construction and benefit from photovoltaic panels which assist in achieving a highly sustainable level of energy efficiency.
All four units have been designed with rise and fall kitchen units enabling the kitchens to be utilised from both a standing and seated position. Walk in wet rooms with aided shower screens were fitted as well as underfloor heating installed enabling clear access for the wheelchair users.
