As the Project Manager on Hopton Street for Platform Housing I found Harper Group to be exceptional in their quality of work throughout the build programme. From everyone associated with the company including site staff, subcontractors and the main office there was always a feeling of a positive working relationship, doing whatever was needed to achieve the objective.

Connexus are delighted that phase 1 is now complete and that our Beattie Avenue residents can move in to their new homes. We have also been able to provide additional homes for households who were on Herefordshire Council’s Accessible Homes Register, who have been waiting for suitable wheelchair accessible homes.

Citizen New Homes Ltd are delighted with the completion of our new development ‘Chapmans Orchard’. Working with J.Harper & Sons Ltd during the construction phase of this scheme and over course of its twelve month duration, has proven to be an effective and collaborative partnership. We are very pleased with the quality of the completed new homes at Bank Street, where we have worked in close partnership with colleagues at Harper Group. Together we have overcome a number of obstacles on this complex mixed development which includes both new build homes and also the conversion of a building of local importance in Cheadle. J. Harper & Sons have once again provided a first class service to Rooftop on the delivery of 23 no. affordable homes in Gloucester. The project team responded to all queries straight away and went above and beyond to assist the Association with queries, variations, amendments and visits. This included a days notice to accommodate a visit from a local MP who had nothing but praise for the quality of the build. The site staff were also great at managing relationships with neighbouring residents and businesses and dealt with any issues that arose in a polite and timely manner. The project was delivered by Harpers on time and on budget and I would not hesitate to recommend J. Harper & Sons for future projects.
The Wrekin Housing Trust is pleased to announce that we have recently completed the development at Wendover Mews, Hills Lane, Madeley, Telford. The contractor was J. Harper & Sons (Leominster) Ltd and we are delighted with all aspects of their work in the delivery of the scheme.
The works included the demolition of a derelict residential property and replacement with 5 new build, timber framed, mews style houses on a confined site surrounded by neighbouring residential properties, church property and a caravan park.
The construction phase was 10 months with the project completing ahead of the contractual date. Simon Deakin (Contracts Manager) and Mark Kelly (Site Manager) at J. Harper & Sons (Leominster) Ltd ensured that the build programme was run efficiently and that all trades completed works to a very high standard meaning that there were very few issues to resolve during the build phase and handover of properties was a smooth process.
Throughout the build phase the communication with Simon & Mark was excellent with detailed site progress reporting as well as informal open dialogue to deal with any minor queries which meant these were dealt with quickly and efficiently. They demonstrated a genuine willingness to work in partnership with the Trust to deliver the best possible homes for our tenants. They remained considerate to the neighbours at all times.

The scheme was completed on time, within budget and finished to a very high standard. As a result, I have invited colleagues and customers to visit and inspect the properties with complete confidence that they will be impressed with what they see. Whilst the finished product is of great importance to us, more importantly, it might be argued from my perspective as the client, is the manner in which the scheme has been delivered. It is difficult to highlight any individual: Mike Harvey, Nick Bates, Garry Godsall, Nick Davies and Matt Groves, all conducted themselves with professional, customer focused, positive and collaborative attitudes throughout the project.

J.Harper & Sons recently completed the design and build of a new visitor centre (317 square metres) at Sandwell Valley nature reserve, West Barr. The company ran the project in a professional manner, communicated regularly, held monthly site meetings and dealt with all issues and challenges in a pragmatic way.
The Site Manager did an excellent job juggling the needs of the project team, a tight budget, quality control and the vandalism challenges that the site experienced. The Site Manager was approachable, calm and professional at all times. A competent team of builders, electricians, and other technical experts were deployed on this project and all seemed to work well together.
The project was delivered on time and within budget and to a high standard. There was a significant snagging period but all issues were dealt with.

The site had its own unique challenges which were overcome with great skill ad care by the site team.
